An estimated 300,000 people have died from gun violence between 2004 and 2014. Do you believe the Second Amendment leaves any room for limits on gun rights? If so, please outline what those limits should be. (limit 150 words)
I believe that, while the Second Amendment provides important protections, we must face the dangerous reality that assault weapons possess. When elected, Geraldine will fight for a restoration of the Assault Weapons Ban, “No-Fly, No-Buy”, a closing of the gun-show loophole, and other common sense gun safety measures.
Some 30 million Americans remain uninsured. Would you support or oppose the Affordable Healthcare Act as currently written? Explain why you would support its continuation or what kind of plan, if any, should replace it. (limit 150 words)
I support the Affordable Healthcare Act. As a longtime community advocate and state legislator in Orlando, I believe that American should have access to quality, affordable health care.
Some presidential candidates have said they would favor getting rid of the U.S. Department of Education. Explain what kind of role you believe the federal government should play in education and what federal education policies you would support or oppose. (limit 150 words)
As a former public school teacher and college administrator, I will continue my support for our public schools. I believes we need schools where students can succeed, regardless of their zip code, and will work to restore funding to our schools. I believe we must restore confidence in our teachers, by working with them and reducing unnecessary testing. Studies have proven time and time again that education is the key to breaking generational poverty and reducing crime.

In higher education, I supports a debt free college for everyone. I will work to provide free community college through expanded grants as proposed by President Obama. I believe that graduates should have the opportunity to pay off their debts through other avenues, like community service, and reduce the severe burden on our recent graduates.

The U.S. debt is approaching $20 trillion, and interest payments on the debt were $223 billion in 2015. What measures would you support to reduce the annual budget deficit that contributes to the national debt? (limit 150 words)
To reduce the annual budget deficit that contributes to the national deficit, I would seek to authorize spending balanced by reductions. I would balance any new proposals for spending only if they were offset by cuts in other areas as I have done for 10 years in the Florida Legislature.
